OMAGGIO AL 75MO DI EL ALAMEIN DEL SITO AFRIKANER
Il webmaster del sito Afrikaner,il cui sottotitolo è “archeologia ricostruttiva, collaborerà al Progetto El Alamein.
Il suo we ci ha abituato ai suoi bellissimi diorami, ovvero ricostruzioni fotografiche modellistiche ambientate storicamente, lasciano stupiti per come è impossibile distinguerli dalle foto scattate in realtà. Ecco il suo omaggio al 75mo di El Alamein
Il canto del cigno della 21a Panzer
7 novembre 1942, Egitto, zona Sanyet el Qasaba.
(…)Tra questi ultimi la 21°divisione corazzata fu costretta ad arrestarsi a sud-ovest di Qasaba per mancanza di benzina e a disporsi in quadrato. Alle ore 10 fu attaccata da 60 carri e resistette disperatamente. Il gruppo Voss (580° rep. esp.) ritirandosi da Fuka piombò alle spalle dei britannici infliggendo serie perdite. Nel pomeriggio, la 21°, non essendo ancora giunto il carburante, e continuando la pressione del nemico, fu costretta a far saltare in aria 26 dei suoi 30 carri, riuscendo poi a sottrarsi alla morsa usando i mezzi ruotati, che, alimentati di carburante la notte, consentirono il raggiungimento delle posizioni prestabilite.(…)

(…)Among them, the 21st panzer division was forced to stop south-west of Qasaba due to lack of gasoline and to settle in the square. At 10 o’clock, he was attacked by 60 tanks and desperately resisted. The Kampfgruppe Voss (580th recce unit) which was retreating from Fuka plunged behind the British by inflicting heavy losses. In the afternoon, the 21st was forced to blow up 26 of his 30 tanks, having not yet fuel and continuing the pressure of the enemy, then to escap from his vice using the rotated means, which, fueled by fuel in the night, allowed the achievement of the pre-established positions.(…)
